About this Mom...
Stefanie is an active member of Sylvania Troop 2's troop committee. For the past several years she has helped the troop with Popcorn Sales (probably the hardest committee job there is!) in addition to supporting the troop through other fund raising events. Through her tireless efforts and leadership, Troop 2 is able to raise money to help support the fun activities the boys have come to love and expect. We are so lucky at T2 to have moms like Stefanie involved!
What's It Like to Be a Scout Mom?
"Being a Scout mom is very rewarding. I love that our family values are being reinforced in Scouting."
What do you like most about being a Scout mom?
"I like that I can get involved with my sons group and help not only my son but the whole group of Scouts. The lessons that they are learning from being involved in Scouts will hopefully be instilled in them for their whole lives. We as moms want our sons to go off into the world and make us proud and I think Scouting is a great benefit to them."
How has Scouting changed your relationship with your son?
"Scouting has been wonderful for our relationship. We do activities together that we may not have normally done if it hadn't been for a merit badge or a project that he really wanted to achieve."
What would you tell a mom asking for your advice about becoming a Scout mom?
"I would advise any mom to get their son(s) involved in Scouting. Scouts has been very beneficial to my son. The boys learn how to get along in a group settings, skills they may never learn if not for Scouts and how to become leaders. They also meet a lot of boys that may become life long friends."
