About this Mom...
"Marie Grundy is an amazing mother of three children. She is great with all kids and especially those with special needs. She has given her all to helping her son achieve his Life rank by the age of 13. With her guidance and support, he has become a great leader in the Troop as the Assistant Senior Patrol Leader. Marie is truly the embodiment of what it means to be a Scout Mom. She is involved in Scouting in many facets and is one of, if not the most, dedicated mothers you will find within Scouting," wrote Charlie Horne in his nomination of Marie for the 2019 Scout Mom Award.
"Marie works on many service projects to better our community and our world. One such project has been the creation of a butterfly garden. She has put in many hours cleaning out a large planting area outside our community hall and then tending to it—it is now flourishing! This has beautified the area as well as provided a safe place for endangered pollinating species, " Horne added.
Marie serves as the Advancement Chairperson in her son's Boy Scout Troop. She successfully guides boys in striving to achieve all they can. She is also the Pack Leader for the affiliated Cub Scouts and serves as a Den Leader. She also finds time to stay active as a leader in a Venturing Crew unit and she is very involved and active as a mother and leader in Girl Scouts with her two amazing daughters.
