What's It Like to Be a Scout Mom?
"Being a Scout Mom is an extremely rewarding experience. I am lucky to be a part of an active, supportive pack and troop. For 10 years we have had the chance to make more memories and family time through Scouting. Watching my boys and my husband learn, lead, advance, and share with others is a great feeling."
What do you like most about being a Scout Mom?
"I truly enjoy the additional time we spend and the service we do as a family. Scouting is a nice fit for the strengths and values we strive to achieve. I also enjoy being able to encourage and support my boys on their quest to Eagle, while giving time and effort to all of the members of the troop."
How has Scouting changed your relationship with your son?
"We lead an already extremely busy lifestyle filled with a variety of work and extra curricular activities. The importance of sharing with the boys is immeasurable and the ups and downs of our experiences have brought us closer."
What would you tell a mom asking for your advice about becoming a Scout Mom?
"Support and encourage your boys. Don't worry about your hectic lifestyle; it's a worthwhile addition. Help, volunteer, get involved -- you only have one shot at parenting. Scouting gives you the chance to do as much or as little as you are able. It's an incredible influence."
